Hram tigrova, Tiger Temple
Tiger Temple (Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua) is Buddhist temple situated in Western Thailand not far from the border with Myanmar. It was founded in 1994. About 12 adult tigers and 4 cubs live in a temple together with other wild animals who live in the temple forest. Thai monks, volunteers who came from different parts of world (mostly very handsome guys - girls get ready!) and local staff take care of all those animals.
Tigrove hrane kuvanom piletinom i govedinom.
They feed tigers with boiled chicken and beef. Meat is boiled so that animals don't get taste for blood. Tigers spend most of the time in huge cages and at noon they are taken on leashes to a nearby quarry where tourists come to take pictures and pet those magnificent animals.
Since tigers are sensitive to pink color (which is written as warning at the ticket office) it would be good if you wear some blue clothes.
Slikanje traje do četiri sata a potom ih vodiči vraćaju u kaveze.
Visit lasts till 4 o'clock and then animals return to cages. When you enter the area with tigers a guide will take your hand and guide you closely and take care of you until you leave. If you try to jump or run because a tiger made sudden move the guide will hold your hand tightly and will prevent you to move. There are strict precepts of conduct and you will hear them before you enter the area with tigers. Tigers are very calm but still… you will be restless.
About 4 o'clock the staff orders to visitors to stand still next to the huge rock and not to move under ANY circumstances while tigers pass by. Than they release animals from iron ring which binds them to the ground.
Neki tigrovi hodaju potpuno slobodni.
When monks, tigers and staff proceed up the hill tourists are allowed to follow it. Animals are nearly free because the huge iron chain hold only monk or one man. Some of tigers walk freely.
When tigers were locked a lot of bags full of turnip and other food arrived. One of the workers started taking out the food from the bags and he was shouting with strange cries. At that moment a stampede of wild animals started from the woods. Wild pigs, roes and strange looking wild bulls were running towards us in a horrifying speed. We were standing totally unprotected before the crowd that was approaching us. We panicked! In no time a lot of animals surrounded us but they didn't even look at us because they were fighting for the food punching each other and making terrible noise. The most aggressive were wild pigs that were attacking and grunting loudly at each other. Tigers were tamed cats comparing to those wild pigs.
Taj celodnevni izlet kosta oko 20 eura. Ulaz u hram se plaća posebno. Novac se koristi za održavanje životinja.
